Newsy also allows access to your site via sub-path from the domain you have connected.
Let's assume you have a domain called
hello.com and you want your site to be accessed via
hello.com/world.
In this case, the world is the
sub-path, which you can specify in
Domain Settings page.
-
Only a single sub-path is allowed. That means you cannot specify
hello.com/world/another.
-
Please make sure that sub-path cannot contain any special characters except
hyphen -.
-
If you create second site with
hello.com/my-second-site, you do not need to make any changes to
your DNS settings (assuming you have already made the changes when you created your first one
hello.com/world). The changes that are made to your DNS settings as outlined
here are applicable at the domain level and
does not consider any sub-path information.

An advantage of using sub-paths is if you want to connect a single domain to many different
Newsy sites without having to change the DNS settings. A disadvantage of this approach might be that from
various search engines' perspectives, it might be difficult to separate out each site if they share the same domain and
it's uncertain how this will affect rankgins of your contents.
-
This approach also may not be suitable for any
third-party services that require domain-level verification (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console), all of which
do not any sub-path level information.
We provide this sub-path feature as a tool for you to explore. All things considered (e.g. SEO, third-party tools etc), we strongly
recommend that you connect each Newsy to its own domain (or at least its own sub-domain).
